The Church: A Reflection of Reformation Theology

Empowered by the Holy Spirit
The church is created, gifted, united, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. This empowerment enables the church to fulfill its purpose, which is to proclaim the gospel to the world.
A Covenantal Relationship
The church exists in a new covenant relationship with God, and its members exist in a covenantal relationship with one another. This relationship is built on mutual love, respect, and trust.
Confessing Sound Doctrine
Each member of the church has a personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Together, the church confesses sound doctrine, affirming its beliefs about a triune God, Jesus Christ, the Son incarnate, and the Holy Spirit.
A Missional Body
The church is a body of divinely-called ministers who proclaim the gospel throughout the world. Its mission is to spread the message of salvation to all nations.
A Sojourning Community
The church is a community of sojourners, strangers, and pilgrims in this world. While enjoying the present moment with the Lord, the church looks forward to a greater future, one that is filled with hope and promise.
