**From Darkness to Light: A Journey of Redemption**
I’ll never forget the day I realized I’d been living a lie for over four decades. At 14, I thought I’d dedicated my life to Jesus, but the years that followed told a different story. I enjoyed the benefits of being a “good Christian” on the surface, but deep down, I was consumed by darkness. My heart was torn, and I was trapped in a cycle of sin and self-deception.
As I continued down this path, I began to see the devastating consequences that awaited me. Broken relationships, misery, and eternal death loomed on the horizon. But even in the midst of my rebellion, God’s grace pursued me relentlessly. He was the constant presence, waiting for me to surrender.
One fateful Sunday afternoon, I made the decision to surrender. I was baptized, and as I emerged from the water, the truth about Jesus and my identity in Him became crystal clear. The grip of sin was broken, and death lost its power. Jesus became my Victor, my Master, and my Savior.
I used to think grace was a free pass to heaven, regardless of how I lived. But I’ve learned that’s a dangerous misconception. True grace is not a license to sin; it’s a powerful force that sets us free from the darkness that binds us.
If you’re like I once was, thinking you can have your cake and eat it too, I urge you to reconsider. The pain and destruction that come with living a life of sin are not worth it. Surrender to God’s true grace today and experience the forgiveness and redemption that only He can offer.
**Reflection**
Take a moment to reflect on the areas of your life where darkness still lurks. Write them down, and then hold that list up to the light. See the darkness for what it is, and present it to Jesus in prayer. Then, rip that list up, symbolizing your surrender to His grace and forgiveness.
