A Glimpse of Clarity
As I sat in the pre-op room, waiting for my laser eye procedure, my doctor friend beckoned me to follow him on an impromptu tour of the post-op area. “Come see why we love what we do,” he said with a warm smile. I trailed behind him as he visited patient after patient, asking each one the same question: “Can you see better now?” The responses were unanimous – yes, they could see better. Some described vibrant colors, while others marveled at their newfound clarity. One woman exclaimed that her eyesight was better than it had been since childhood.
Their reactions reminded me of the biblical story of the blind man healed by Jesus. Born without sight, the man’s encounter with Jesus changed everything. After washing in the pool of Siloam, he beheld the world for the first time. When questioned by the Pharisees, he confessed ignorance about the details, but one thing was certain: “I was blind, but now I see.”
Similarly, when we surrender our hearts to Christ, we gain a new kind of sight – spiritual insight that transcends human understanding. We may not grasp the intricacies of theology, but our hearts know that we’ve been transformed. As John Newton so eloquently put it, “I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see.”
My prayer is that Jesus will continually grant me clearer spiritual vision, enabling me to see Him and His plan for my life with greater clarity. Perhaps you’re seeking that same kind of sight. If so, you can start your journey today with a simple prayer:
**A Prayer for Spiritual Sight**
Lord Jesus, I want to trust you from now on. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me be the person You want me to be. Thank you for enabling me to trust you in these uncertain times. Amen.
If you’ve prayed this prayer, we’d love to hear from you and provide follow-up resources to support your new journey.
