Stepping into the Unknown: Unleashing Courage in the Face of Fear
As I stood before a sea of expectant faces, clutching my notes and trying to still my racing heart, I couldn’t help but wonder how I’d ended up here. Just 45 minutes earlier, I was a nervous wreck, questioning my ability to deliver a message that would resonate with these women. Yet, as I began to speak, something miraculous happened. My words flowed, my passion ignited, and my fears melted away.
This wasn’t my first foray into public speaking, but you’d think it was, given the trembling hands and quivering voice. It’s a phenomenon I’ve come to accept as part of the process. The first few minutes are always a struggle, but once I find my rhythm, I’m able to relax – somewhat.
The journey to this moment began years ago, when I first felt the urge to write and encourage women in their faith journeys. But speaking? That was a different story altogether. The thought of holding a microphone and addressing a crowd sent shivers down my spine. Yet, God had other plans.
He planted a dream in my heart, one that terrified me to my core. And that’s exactly the point. These dreams aren’t meant to be solo endeavors; they’re designed to be tackled alongside God. As Joshua 1:9 reminds us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
How often do we forget that God’s presence is our greatest comfort, our safest haven? When we step into the unknown, He’s right there with us, guiding us every step of the way. So, what’s holding you back from pursuing your dreams? Is it fear, doubt, or uncertainty? Remember, God is always with you, and with Him, anything is possible.
