**Abundance in the Midst of Scarcity**
Do you ever feel like you’re living on borrowed time, constantly worried about running out of resources? It’s a feeling that’s all too familiar in our world of supply and demand. We’ve been conditioned to believe that there’s never enough to go around, leading us to stockpile and fret about the future.
But what if I told you there’s a different way to live? A way that’s not bound by the limitations of human resources, but instead taps into an endless wellspring of abundance?
The apostle Paul knew a thing or two about living in scarcity. Yet, in his letter to the Philippians, he penned these life-changing words: “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NLT).
Notice that Paul doesn’t say God will provide just enough to get by. No, He supplies our needs from His glorious riches – a treasure trove that’s overflowing with abundance. The key, however, lies in understanding the difference between our wants and our needs.
You see, most of us want to feel good, avoid discomfort, and sidestep pain. But God’s desire for us is far greater. He wants to transform our attitudes and appetites, aligning them with His own desires. When we trust in Christ, we gain access to a limitless supply of resources, limited only by the boundaries of our faith.
So, let’s shift our focus away from the scarcity mindset and toward the abundance of God. Let’s declare with confidence: “Thank you, Father, that You will meet all my needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NLT).
