**Move or Soar**

As I gazed up at the sky, mesmerized by the symphony of birds flying in perfect harmony, I couldn’t help but ponder the intricate design of creation. The effortless glide of geese in V-formation, their annual migration a testament to their innate nature, left me in awe. Yet, in the midst of this natural wonder, I noticed a peculiar phenomenon. In many parking lots, Canada geese had made themselves at home, abandoning their instinctual flight patterns for the convenience of human scraps.

At first, it seemed harmless – a weary flock seeking refuge in a temporary haven. But as I observed these geese, I realized they had grown complacent, trading in the thrill of flight for the ease of scavenging. They had lost touch with their true essence, settling for a life of mediocrity. As I watched, a baby goose trailed behind its parents, unaware that its natural habitat was not asphalt and concrete, but the open skies.

In that moment, I felt a gentle nudge from within. Was I not guilty of the same compromise? Do I not often choose the comfort of my soul over the discipline of living in my spirit? Don’t I, too, opt for fleeting pleasures over the beauty of God’s design for me? The realization was convicting: when I choose to live from my soul, I not only limit myself but also impact those around me.

The Bible reminds us, “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) As I reflected on this verse, I prayed for forgiveness, asking God to reveal the areas where I had settled for less than His best. I chose to surrender, to soar to greater heights, and to live in the fullness of His design for me.

In that moment, I realized that the geese were not just a curiosity, but a mirror reflecting my own tendencies. May we all be reminded to strive for the beauty of our true nature, to resist the temptation of complacency, and to embrace the magnificent design God has for each of us.
