The Gift of True Worship
As we reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, we’re reminded of the Wise Men who brought gifts to the newborn King. But what if we could give a gift to Christ today? What would it be? The answer lies in the example set by the Wise Men, who offered more than just gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
A Gift of Hope
The Wise Men saw beyond the darkness of their time and followed the star that led them to Jesus. They exemplify the kind of hope that God desires from us. When faced with challenges, do we see the darkness or the light? Do we choose hopelessness or hopefulness? As John 1:5 reminds us, “The light shines in the darkness.” This Christmas, give God your hope.
The Gift of Time
Before presenting their gifts, the Wise Men gave God their presence. They spent months, perhaps even years, searching for the Prince of Heaven. We too can devote ourselves to seeking the Savior, just as the Wise Men did. As Deuteronomy 4:29 promises, “You will seek him and find him when you seek him with all your heart.” Give God your time this Christmas.
The Gift of Worship
When the Wise Men finally found Jesus, they fell down and worshiped Him. Worship is a gift that transforms both the giver and the receiver. Through worship, we come to see God more clearly, and He changes our hearts. As John 4:23 says, “The Father is actively seeking such people to worship him.” Give God your worship this Christmas.
Beyond Traditional Worship
While singing in church and reading the Bible are essential, there are many other ways to worship God. We can worship through acts of service, kindness, and generosity. We can worship through prayer, meditation, and quiet reflection. We can worship by simply being still in His presence. The question is, how do you worship God?
This Christmas, remember that God seeks true worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Let us follow the example of the Wise Men and give God the gifts of hope, time, and worship. For in doing so, we will experience the transformative power of true worship.
