Building on Eternal Foundations
In a world where everything seems to be shifting, it’s essential to anchor our lives on unshakeable truths. As the Bible reminds us, “This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain” (Hebrews 12:27-28, NLT). The question is, what are these unshakeable things that can bring stability and meaning to our lives?
The Eternal Rock: God
The first and foremost unshakeable entity is God Himself. As Isaiah 26:4 (NLT) declares, “Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.” God is the foundation upon which we can build our lives, and His presence is the source of our strength and comfort.
The Unshakeable Throne
The throne of God is another eternal reality that remains unshaken. Psalm 45:6 (NKJV) affirms, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.” This throne represents God’s sovereignty and authority over all creation.
The Kingdom of God
We are also receiving a Kingdom that is unshakeable, as Hebrews 12:28 (NLT) reminds us. This Kingdom is built on the principles of righteousness, justice, and love, and it will endure forever.
The Holy Spirit: Our Guide and Comforter
The Holy Spirit is another unshakeable presence in our lives. Through Him, we have been cleansed from sin and empowered to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14, NKJV).
Eternal Truths
Several eternal truths also form the foundation of our faith. These include God’s righteousness, mercy, covenants, truth, and His Word. Psalm 111:3 (NKJV) declares, “His righteousness endures forever,” while Psalm 107:1 (NKJV) affirms, “His mercy endures forever.”
The Gospel: A Message of Hope
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is another unshakeable reality that brings hope and salvation to humanity. Revelation 14:6 (NKJV) describes it as the “everlasting gospel” that will be preached to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
Eternal Life and Inheritance
Through Jesus Christ, we have received eternal life and an eternal inheritance. 1 John 5:11 (NLT) states, “And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” Hebrews 9:15 (NKJV) adds, “That those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”
Christ the Lord: The Ultimate Authority
Finally, Christ is the ultimate authority who will reign forever and ever. Revelation 11:15 (NKJV) declares, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
In a world that is constantly changing, it’s essential to build our lives on these unshakeable truths. As E. Stanley Jones once said, “Man needs nothing so much as he needs something to bring life together into total meaning.” By anchoring our lives on these eternal foundations, we can find stability, hope, and purpose in a chaotic world.
