Faith Without Obstacles
Have you ever felt turned off by someone claiming to be a Christian, only to witness them behaving in a way that contradicts their beliefs? Perhaps you’ve even had someone point out the hypocrisy of a fellow believer. When this happens, I like to ask a thought-provoking question: If we allow someone else’s flaws to come between us and God, doesn’t that mean they’re actually closer to God than we are?
A Higher Standard
As followers of Christ, we’re called to be more others-centered, striving to embody His character rather than creating stumbling blocks for others. Our focus should be on glorifying God in every aspect of our lives, ensuring that our actions don’t hinder anyone’s journey towards faith.
A Prayer for Guidance
This week, I pray that you’ll make a conscious effort to live a life that honors God. May your every action, from the mundane to the extraordinary, be motivated by a desire to bring glory to Him. As the apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:31-32, “Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God, not causing anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God. Amen.”
Embracing Accountability
As believers, we have a responsibility to hold ourselves to a higher standard. By doing so, we create an environment where others can grow in their faith without obstacles. So, let’s commit to being the light that shines bright, rather than the roadblock that hinders someone’s path to Christ.
A Final Thought
As we strive to live a life that reflects God’s character, let’s remember that our actions have the power to either draw people closer to Him or push them further away. May we choose to be the catalyst for positive change, inspiring others to seek a deeper relationship with our Lord.
