A Hunger for Heaven
The world we live in today is far from perfect. It’s a place where unhappiness and dissatisfaction are inevitable. But what if this sense of discontent is not a curse, but a blessing in disguise? What if it’s a reminder that we were made for something greater?
A Deep-Seated Dissatisfaction
God, in His infinite wisdom, has instilled in us a deep-seated dissatisfaction with the world around us. This feeling of unrest is a gentle nudge, urging us to look beyond the present moment and focus on the eternal. It’s a reminder that our true home is not of this world, but in heaven.
Foreigners in a Strange Land
As the Bible reminds us, “You are like foreigners and strangers in this world” (1 Peter 2:11). We are temporary residents, passing through a foreign land. Our hearts yearn for something more, something that this world cannot provide. We catch glimpses of joy, moments of peace, but they are fleeting and incomplete.
Made for Heaven
The truth is, we were not created for this earth. We were made for heaven, where true happiness and fulfillment await. Our moments of joy on earth are mere whispers of the eternal bliss that lies ahead. It’s a promise that gives us hope, a promise that reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on the eternal.
A Glimpse of the Future
So, let us not settle for the fleeting pleasures of this world. Let us not be satisfied with the temporary and the mundane. Instead, let us fix our gaze on the eternal, and let our hearts be filled with a hunger for heaven. For it is there that we will find true happiness, true fulfillment, and true life.
