Rediscovering God’s Unwavering Love
Life’s unexpected twists and turns can leave us feeling lost and uncertain about God’s presence in our lives. It’s easy to wonder if He’s still watching over us, or if He’s somehow abandoned us. The accumulation of losses and setbacks can quietly erode our trust in His goodness, making us feel like we’re stuck under His thumb instead of basking in the warmth of His love.
A Shift in Perspective
As we struggle to make sense of our circumstances, our view of God can subtly change. We might start to doubt His love and care for us, feeling like we’re not receiving the blessings others seem to enjoy. It’s a slippery slope, and before we know it, our Bible may start collecting dust on the shelf.
A Wake-Up Call
But God is always looking for ways to get our attention. Perhaps it’s a chance encounter with a Scripture verse, like 1 John 3:1, which reminds us that we are children of God, lavishly loved by our Heavenly Father. The word “lavished” can be a powerful catalyst for change, helping us realize that our doubts about God’s love are unfounded.
A God Who Lavishes Love
A God who lavishes His love on us is not a distant, unfeeling deity. Rather, He is a loving guide who desires to walk with us through life’s journey, gently nudging us back on track when we stray. His love is not conditional; it’s a constant, reassuring presence that can be trusted to lead us to the best possible outcomes.
Don’t Let Doubt Take Hold
When life gets tough, it’s essential to hold onto the truth of God’s unwavering love. Don’t let doubt creep in and harden your heart. Instead, choose to trust in His goodness, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. Remember, His love is the anchor that keeps our hearts soft and our attitudes aligned with His will.
A Prayer of Trust
Dear Heavenly Father,
Forgive me for doubting Your love and care for me. I confess my impatience and lack of trust. Thank You for reminding me of Your lavish love and my identity as Your child. Show me where I’ve gone astray, and help me trust in Your goodness. Give me assurance that You’re working in my circumstances, and guide me in what to do. By faith, I will trust You.
Thank You, Father. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
