**Fixing Our Eyes on Eternity**
Imagine standing on a precarious tightrope, high above the ground. The key to successfully navigating this treacherous path is to maintain focus on the destination, rather than glancing down at the potential pitfalls or back at the journey already traveled. Similarly, as followers of Jesus, our gaze should remain fixed on the ultimate goal: the glorious reunion with our Savior in heaven.
It’s easy to get distracted by our past accomplishments or current struggles, but our eyes must stay fixed on the prize. The Christian journey is not about celebrating our achievements or dwelling on our failures; it’s about pressing onward, fueled by the promise of eternal life with Jesus. When we keep our eyes on the horizon, we’re reminded that our true identity is not defined by our earthly successes or shortcomings, but by our relationship with the One who calls us by name.
**A Prayer for Eternal Focus**
Dear Lord, I long for the day when I’ll walk alongside you in heaven, free from the burdens of this world. Until then, help me to fix my gaze on the eternal purpose you have for my life. May I resist the temptation to dwell on past achievements or current struggles, and instead, stay focused on the glory that awaits. By your grace and in the holy name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
