A Fresh Canvas: Unlocking Your True Potential
As we step into a brand new year, the possibilities are endless. A clean slate stretches out before us, waiting to be filled with purpose and intention. The question is, what will we create on this canvas?
Breaking Free from Resolutions
For many of us, New Year’s resolutions have become a familiar ritual. We make grand promises to ourselves, only to watch them crumble beneath our feet. Discouragement sets in, and we wonder if lasting change is even possible. But what if we approached this fresh start differently?
The Power of One Word
Recently, I was challenged to abandon traditional resolutions and instead choose a single word to guide me throughout the year. This word would serve as a beacon, illuminating the kind of person I want to become. It’s not about external accomplishments, but internal transformation. It’s about the heart.
Uncovering My Heart’s Desires
As I reflected on the person I want to become, I began to identify areas where I long for victory. I want to genuinely celebrate others’ successes without envy. I want to be driven by the Holy Spirit, rather than my own ambitions. I want to be transparent, with nothing to hide. I want to crave time alone with God, and embrace the life He has for me.
Discovering My One Word
Through this process, I discovered my one word: Undivided. I want to be undivided in my love for God, undivided as a follower of Christ, and undivided in my passion for Him. Psalm 86:11 echoes this desire, “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”
A Year of Intentional Focus
My focus for this year will be to cultivate a heart that is Undivided. I invite you to join me on this journey. Take some time to reflect on the person you want to become. What needs to change in your heart? What’s holding you back from becoming the best version of yourself?
Embracing Your One Word
Will you take up the challenge and discover your One Word? What Scripture verse will guide you throughout the year? By doing so, you’ll be intentional about your growth and transformation. May this be the year we all reflect the character of Christ more fully.
