Reflecting God’s Glory
As children of God, we are called to radiate the beauty and glory of God in our daily lives. But have we ever stopped to consider the inconsistency of professing to have the light of the world dwelling within us, yet displaying a glum expression?
The Power of a Happy Face
Proverbs 15:13 reminds us that a happy face is a reflection of a glad heart, while a sad face reveals a breaking heart. A shining face, radiant with the love and joy of Jesus Christ, has the power to change lives. Just ask Henry Clay Trumbull, who was inspired by the radiant face of missionary Adoniram Judson as a young boy.
A Glimpse of God’s Glory
Judson’s face shone with a light that was unforgettable, and it sparked a curiosity in the young boy that would stay with him for years to come. As Christians, we are called to reflect God’s glory in our daily lives, just as flowers thrive when they bend towards the light of the sun.
Time Spent with God
May we never underestimate the power of a glowing face that stems from time spent with God. Even as Moses’ countenance shone, may our faces reveal time spent alone with God and in His Word. As Daniel 12:3 reminds us, those who are wise – the people of God – shall shine as brightly as the sun’s brilliance.
Today’s Action Point
Take time to reflect on your daily interactions with God. Are you spending sufficient time with Him to ensure a radiant countenance that brings glory to God and inspires those around you? Make a commitment to prioritize your time with God, and watch as your face shines with the love and joy of Jesus Christ.
