Discovering the Power of God’s Word
As we embark on our spiritual journey, it’s essential to prioritize time with God. The Bible reminds us, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2)
Overcoming Distractions
As a new believer, I faced numerous challenges in my quest to spend quality time with God’s Word. Not only did I struggle to understand what to read, but I also found myself distracted by the world around me. However, as I dedicated more time to reading and meditating on Scripture, I began to experience the transformative power of God’s Word. The more I spent time with Him, the more alive He became to me.
The Life-Changing Impact of God’s Word
When we experience the power of God’s Word, we realize that we can’t live without it. We begin to crave more of His presence, and His Word becomes a source of sustenance and strength. Life will inevitably throw distractions our way, but it’s crucial that we guard ourselves against these obstacles and prioritize time with God.
The Alive and Powerful Word of God
As Hebrews 4:12 reminds us, “the word of God is alive and powerful.” There is no greater joy than knowing Jesus, and spending time in God’s Word is the key to deepening our relationship with Him. When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we allow God to change us, draw us closer to Christ, and grant us wisdom and understanding.
A Prayer for Wisdom and Understanding
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Your precious Word. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for illuminating the truths of God’s Word and giving me wisdom and understanding. May I desire the things of God and prioritize time with Him above all else. Amen.
