A Heart Transformed
From Morse Code to a Steady Beat
My life took an unexpected turn when I underwent a heart procedure a few years ago. My heartbeat was as unpredictable as a Morse code operator’s transmission – fast, fast, fast, slow, fast again. After several attempts to regulate my rhythm with medication failed, my doctor decided it was time for a catheter ablation.
A Bold Plan
The procedure involved inserting two cables into my heart through a blood vessel – one with a camera and the other with an ablation tool. The goal was to identify and destroy the “misbehaving” parts of my heart, restoring a healthy rhythm. As I lay on the operating table, my doctor asked if I had any final questions. I attempted to lighten the mood, asking if he was going to burn away not only the faulty heart tissue but also some of my personal flaws – greed, selfishness, superiority, and guilt. He smiled and politely declined, saying it was beyond his expertise.
A Deeper Transformation
But what if I told you there is a Surgeon who can transform more than just our physical hearts? One who can redeem and restore our very souls? God is in the business of changing hearts, and His methods are far more profound than any medical procedure. While we may not experience an overnight transformation, we can be certain that change is possible. It may come in unexpected moments of clarity, breakthroughs, or subtle whispers of grace.
The Power of Grace
As the apostle Paul wrote, “The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared” (Titus 2:11). The floodgates of redemption are open, and God’s grace is always available. We never know when it might seep into our lives, bringing healing and transformation. Are you in need of a heart transformation?
