Seeking God’s Guidance in Life’s Decisions
As I stood at a crossroads, seeking direction for a crucial decision, I was reminded of a time when I didn’t know to turn to God for guidance. In my early twenties, I made a life-altering choice without ever consulting Him. I wasn’t intentionally rebelling against God; I simply didn’t know any better.
A Lesson Learned the Hard Way
I had recently become a Christian and didn’t have a strong foundation in my faith. I hadn’t been raised in a Christian household, and I lacked spiritual mentorship. So, when I felt restless and unhappy with my current situation, I took matters into my own hands. I quit my job, packed my bags, and moved to a new state without praying about it or seeking God’s wisdom. The outcome was disastrous. The move failed, and I found myself back in my hometown, starting from scratch.
God’s Redemptive Plan
But God, in His infinite mercy, used that experience to bring me back to Him. It was during this time that I met my future husband, and I knew that God had orchestrated our meeting. Looking back, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for God’s loving intervention in my life. He covered my mistakes with His grace and patiently guided me towards spiritual maturity.
The Importance of Seeking God
This pivotal experience taught me a valuable lesson: God cares deeply about every aspect of our lives, and He has a plan that unfolds through our circumstances. It’s essential to seek Him, pray, trust, and wait on His guidance. By doing so, we can avoid the pitfalls of making decisions based on our limited understanding.
