The Unbridled Power of Omnipresence
As we gather in small groups, whether in our local communities or across the globe, there’s a profound truth that underscores our collective worship: Jesus is always present among us. This remarkable reality is not limited to our specific gatherings, but simultaneously unfolds in Africa, Israel, China, and every corner of the world.
A Promise to His Apostles
In Matthew 18:19-20, Jesus makes a promise to his apostles, assuring them that whenever two or three come together in His name, He will be there among them. This pledge is not exclusive to the apostles; rather, it’s an extension of His omnipresent nature, where He is everywhere at the same time.
The Assurance of His Presence
When we meet in Jesus’ name, we can be confident that He is among us, guiding and empowering our worship. This is not just a theoretical concept, but a living, breathing reality that transforms our encounters with Him. Imagine the Masai tribe in Kenya, Africa, or the Quechua Indians in Ecuador, gathering in His name – Jesus is right there with them, just as He is with you and your friends when you meet together.
Feeling His Presence
As we acknowledge Jesus’ presence and begin to worship Him for who He is, we can experience His power and joy in a deeper way. This is not limited to grand, international gatherings; even in our most intimate, everyday encounters, Jesus is there, meeting with us, guiding us, and empowering us.
A Call to Action
Today, let us seek out new opportunities to invoke His presence in our midst by fellowshipping with other believers in His name. May we revel in the knowledge that God and Jesus Christ, who meet with missionaries and national believers around the world, also meet with us, right here, right now.
