A Time of Crisis, A Time of Opportunity
The world has been turned upside down. Fear and uncertainty grip us as a global pandemic spreads its reach. It’s a feeling eerily reminiscent of the early Church, which faced intense persecution and was forced to scatter. But in the midst of chaos, something remarkable happened.
Scattered, Yet Unbroken
As believers fled Jerusalem, they took the Gospel with them, spreading it to new lands and peoples. It was a turning point in the history of the Church, and one that God used to further His mission. Despite the odds, the early Christians regrouped and continued to preach the Word, undeterred by the challenges they faced.
A Pattern Repeated
Throughout history, crises have come and gone, often appearing as threats to the Church’s very existence. Yet, time and again, God has used these moments to stoke the fires of mission, spreading the Gospel to the farthest reaches of the earth.
A New Era of Mission
Today, we find ourselves in a similar situation. The Church is scattered, but this time, it’s not just physical distance that separates us. We’re connected by digital roads, streaming church services and Gospel messages to every corner of the globe. Could this be another watershed moment in Church mission history?
Moving Beyond Fear
So, how do we respond? How do we move past our own fear and uncertainty to proclaim Christ in a world that’s both physically and digitally scattered? The answer lies in surrendering our anxieties to God, asking for His peace, wisdom, and creativity to guide us.
A Prayer for Revival
Lord, thank you for your sovereign control of all things, even in the chaos of today. I give my anxieties to you and pray that you’d give me the peace, wisdom, and creativity to proclaim your greatness to those around me, both digitally and physically. Revive my heart in this time, and use me to help bring the Gospel to the very ends of the earth. Amen.
Stepping Out in Faith
As we navigate this new landscape, let’s remember that our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. Let’s come alongside others, using our digital platforms to share the Gospel and draw people closer to Jesus. Who knows what God might do in this moment? The possibilities are endless, and the potential for mission is vast. Will you join the movement?
