**Inner Conflict**

**The War Within: A Battle for Humility**

Have you ever found yourself entangled in a web of conflict, wondering where it all began? Perhaps it started with a subtle desire, a whisper of discontentment that gradually escalated into a full-blown quarrel. James, the wise apostle, sheds light on this phenomenon, revealing that our internal struggles often stem from our own desires and wrong motives.

We crave things we don’t have, and when we can’t get them, we become frustrated and angry. We ask God for things, but with selfish intentions, hoping to indulge in our own pleasures. This adulterous relationship with the world creates enmity against God, making us His enemies. The Scripture reminds us that God opposes the proud but favors the humble.

If you’re tired of being trapped in this cycle of self-righteousness, it’s time to let go and let God. Recognize that your pride is a barrier to true righteousness. Humble yourself before Him, and He will lift you up.

**A Prayer for Humility**

Dear Heavenly Father, please help us overcome our pride and become humble. We submit ourselves to You, resisting the devil and his temptations. As we draw near to You, we know You will draw near to us. We wash our hands of sin and purify our hearts from double-mindedness. We grieve, mourn, and wail, changing our laughter to mourning and our joy to gloom. We humble ourselves before You, oh Lord, that You may lift us up. In Jesus’ name, amen.
