The Pursuing God

Imagine a God who relentlessly chases after us, seeking to win our hearts and capture our attention. A God who, despite our flaws and failures, pursues us with unwavering goodness and mercy throughout our lives. This is the God we find in the Bible – a God who leaves no stone unturned in His pursuit of us.

Moses’ Encounter

Moses, who spent 40 years wandering in the desert, knows a thing or two about being pursued by God. He turned to see a burning bush, a beacon of hope in the wilderness. God had followed him into the unknown, refusing to let him go.

Jonah’s Experience

Jonah, on the other hand, tried to flee from God’s presence. But even in the midst of his rebellion, God followed him onto the turbulent ocean, His mercy and justice intertwined.

The Disciples’ Story

The disciples of Jesus, battered by the storm, turned to see Jesus walking towards them, His presence a calming balm to their souls. God had followed them into the heart of the tempest.

John’s Vision

John, exiled on the island of Patmos, gazed upon the opening skies, and saw the glory of God revealed. Even in his isolation, God had followed him, never leaving him nor forsaking him.

Lazarus’ Miracle

Lazarus, three days dead, heard the voice of Jesus, and turned to see Him standing before him, resurrection life bursting forth from the grave. God had followed him into the very depths of death.

Peter’s Redemption

Peter, who had denied his Lord, heard his name called out, and turned to see Jesus cooking breakfast, a symbol of forgiveness and new beginnings. God had followed him, even in his failure, offering a second chance.

Have You Sensed His Presence?

I wonder, have you felt the gentle nudge of God’s pursuit in your life? Perhaps through the kindness of a stranger, the majesty of a sunset, or the mystery of romance? Maybe through the innocence of a child’s question or the commitment of a loving spouse? Have you sensed His presence in the everyday moments, in the words spoken and the touches shared?
