The Unwrapped Gift of Salvation
Have you ever received a gift that didn’t quite resonate with you? Maybe it was a well-intentioned present from a loved one, but it just didn’t fit your style or needs. Yet, despite its lack of appeal, the gift still held value because it came from someone who cared about you.
In a similar way, the gift of Jesus Christ is often misunderstood or overlooked. We may not fully appreciate the sacrifice He made on the cross, or we might take His love for granted. But the truth is, Jesus is the ultimate gift – one that was purchased with His own blood and offers us salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life.
Just as we might re-gift a physical present to someone who would truly appreciate it, we are called to share the gift of Jesus with others. We didn’t earn it, and we didn’t pay for it; it’s a free gift from God, offered to us through faith. And just as someone had to introduce us to Jesus, we have the privilege of introducing Him to others.
The response to our sharing the gospel is not our responsibility; that’s up to the Holy Spirit. Our role is to be bold and generous in spreading the Good News, trusting that God will use our efforts to bring people to Himself.
As we reflect on the Magi’s gifts to Jesus, let’s ask ourselves: Are we willing to re-gift Jesus to those around us, that they might experience the joy of His grace and mercy? May we be inspired to share His love with others, and may our lives be a testament to the transformative power of His gift.
