**Unshakable Foundation**
I once thought I had found my ultimate refuge in the love of my life. My partner was supposed to be my guiding light, my protector, and my forever companion. But life had other plans. When our relationship came to an abrupt end, I was left feeling shattered, lost, and utterly alone. The pain was overwhelming, and I couldn’t help but wonder why I had placed my trust in someone so fallible.
As I struggled to pick up the pieces of my broken heart, I realized that I had been misguided in my expectations. I had entrusted another human being with the responsibility of being my rock, my shelter, and my salvation. But no mortal can fulfill such a monumental task. It’s a burden too great for anyone to bear.
That’s when I turned to the One who has always been faithful, the One who has never abandoned me. My Lord and Savior became my anchor in the storm, my beacon of hope in the darkness. I learned that He is the only One who can truly be relied upon, the only One who can provide unwavering support and unconditional love.
As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded that it’s unfair to expect others to fulfill God’s role in our lives. While we can certainly love and cherish one another, we must not place unrealistic expectations on our relationships. Instead, we should look to the One who is always faithful, always present, and always willing to guide us through life’s trials.
**The Question That Changed Everything**
Who do you depend on, and for what? Take a moment to reflect on your relationships. Are you expecting someone to fill a void that only God can fill? Perhaps it’s time to reassess your expectations and invite the Lord to take His rightful place as your rock, your shelter, and your salvation.
**Scripture to Ponder**
“My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.” – Psalm 62:7
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me.” – Revelation 3:20
