Unlocking the Power of Prayer
Discovering the Great and Mighty Things of God
As we navigate the complexities of life, it’s easy to lose sight of the incredible potential of prayer. Yet, God invites us to call upon Him, promising to reveal “great and mighty things” beyond our wildest imagination (Jeremiah 33:3). But how often do we truly pray for these extraordinary blessings?
Six Compelling Reasons to Pray for the Extraordinary
Scripture provides at least six compelling reasons to pray for “great and mighty things”: to bring glory to God, to deepen our communication with Him, to foster fellowship with Him, to follow Christ’s example, to achieve tangible results, and to nurture our spiritual growth.
A Life of Unceasing Prayer
Personally, I strive to maintain a spirit of constant prayer, conversing with God throughout the day about every aspect of life. I seek wisdom for decision-making, pray for the salvation of others, and lift up the needs of those around me, including leaders and ministries. Even the smallest details, like what to wear, become opportunities to honor God.
Setting Apart Time for Intimate Prayer
However, I also prioritize dedicated time for prayer, often kneeling quietly before an open Bible. Before reading, I ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate the scriptures, making my reading meaningful. As I read, I pause to thank God for His salvation and provision, confess my shortcomings, and ask for boldness and faith.
Today’s Action Point
