The Anticipation of Reunion
As I waited in the bustling arrivals area of the Vancouver airport, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. My husband, returning from a two-week mission trip to Sumatra, Indonesia, was finally coming home. The thought of being reunited with him filled me with joy.
A Glimpse of Heaven
As I observed the faces of those waiting for their loved ones, I noticed a common thread. Their eyes would scan the crowd, searching for that familiar face. And when they finally locked eyes, their faces would light up with radiant smiles, and they would rush into each other’s arms. It was a beautiful display of love and reunion.
A Heavenly Homecoming
In that moment, I was reminded of a greater homecoming – one that awaits us all. Jesus, our Savior, is preparing a place for us in heaven. He promises to return for us, to take us to be with Him, where we will bask in His love and presence. The thought sends shivers down my spine.
Focused on Christ Alone
Imagine the joy and excitement of being reunited with our Lord and Savior. We will be completely absorbed in His presence, our eyes fixed on His loving face. The words of Charles Gabrielse’s hymn echo in my heart: “Oh, that will be glory for me, Glory for me, glory for me, When by His grace I shall look on His face, That will be glory, be glory for me.”
A Reunion Beyond Compare
As I finally saw my husband emerge from the crowd, our reunion was filled with laughter and tears. But I know that our heavenly homecoming will be even more glorious. We will behold the face of Jesus, and our hearts will overflow with joy and gratitude.
Gratitude and Anticipation
Dear Father, thank You for the promise of heaven and the reunion that awaits us. Thank You that Jesus is preparing a place for us, and we will soon be with Him forever. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
