Surrendering to Divine Guidance: Finding Opportunities in Life’s Detours

Embracing Divine Guidance

As I begin each day, I take a moment to surrender to Christ’s lordship over my life. I ask Him to guide my thoughts, words, and actions, and to use me as a vessel to reach the lost. This daily commitment has transformed my perspective, allowing me to see even the most mundane experiences as opportunities to share His love.

When Plans Change

I recall a conference in the Midwest where I was eagerly anticipating an early departure to reunite with my family in Los Angeles. However, a severe weather system had other plans. Flight after flight was canceled, leaving me scrambling to find an alternative. Initially, I felt discouraged, but then I remembered the promise in Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

A Divine Encounter

As I returned to the hotel, I met a businessman in the lobby who was searching for a deeper connection with God. We struck up a conversation, and I shared the Gospel with him. He and his wife had been attending various churches, seeking a genuine experience with God. I had the privilege of guiding him through the process of receiving Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Together, we prayed, and he joyfully accepted Christ into his life.

Our Responsibility

As followers of Christ, it is our duty to obey His call. It is His responsibility to empower us to become “fishers of men.” As we surrender to His guidance, we can trust that even the most unexpected detours can become opportunities to share our faith with others.

Today’s Action Point

As I follow Christ today, I will recognize that every moment – including delays, hindrances, and closed doors – can be a chance to share His love with others. With God’s help, I will seize every opportunity to spread His message, trusting that He will use me to bring others to Himself.
