The Unwavering Presence of Jesus
As we embark on our journey of faith, it’s essential to remember that we’re never alone. Jesus’ promise to His disciples in Matthew 28:20 serves as a beacon of hope and comfort: “And be sure of this – that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”
A Gentleman’s Word
This promise was what fueled David Livingstone’s courage as he set sail for Africa, despite the dangers that lay ahead. When friends expressed concern for his safety, he calmly replied, “That, my friend, is the word of a gentleman,” referencing Jesus’ assurance of His constant presence. This confidence in God’s presence is what enabled Livingstone to persevere in his missionary work.
A Life of Supernatural Possibilities
As I reflect on my own experiences traveling to scores of countries, I’m reminded of the joy and comfort that comes from knowing Jesus is always with me. Whether at home or abroad, His presence is a constant source of strength and guidance. This same promise is available to every believer, as the indwelling Holy Spirit empowers us to live a supernatural life.
The Power of Trust and Obedience
Today, let us remember that Jesus, who has been given all authority in heaven and earth, is with us always. His supernatural power is available to us moment by moment, enabling us to do all that God has called us to do – if only we will trust and obey Him. Take a moment to reflect on areas of your life where you may have lost sight of Jesus’ presence. Are you willing to entrust them to Him?
