Living a Life that Sparkles with Faith
As followers of Christ, we’re called to be ambassadors of God’s love in every sphere of our lives. But how do we do that effectively, especially in environments where our faith may not be welcomed or understood?
A Life that Invites Inquiry
One successful businessman’s advice to his Christian colleagues is worth heeding: live a life that sparks curiosity. Are we living our faith in a way that’s so supernaturally vibrant, so radically different from the world around us, that people can’t help but ask questions? Do our neighbors notice unselfish acts that defy the prevailing culture? Do we relate to our family with kindness and courtesy?
A Powerful Example
Paul and Silas, two early Christian missionaries, exemplified this kind of faith. After being beaten and jailed for sharing the Gospel, they responded with prayer and worship, even in the darkest of times. Their trust in God was so palpable that it sparked a miraculous earthquake, which led to the jailer’s life-changing question: “What must I do to be saved, to really live?”
When Faith Sparkles
When was the last time someone asked you about your faith? Perhaps it was when you demonstrated supernatural love, joy, peace, or patience in the face of trials. What a thrill it is when we allow God to produce these responses in us, inviting others to ask questions and seek Him!
Praying for Courage
Father God, grant us the desire, willingness, and ability to live a life that sparkles with faith. Help us trust You to put the right words in our mouths at the right times. May our lives be a testament to Your power and love, drawing others to ask about the hope that lies within us.
Reflecting on Our Faith
Take a moment to reflect on your own faith journey. When was the last time someone asked about your faith? How did you respond? Read 1 Peter 3:12-14 for encouragement and inspiration to live a life that invites inquiry.
