Embracing God’s Patience
As we embark on our spiritual journey, it’s essential to remember that God is patient with us. He desires for no one to be lost, but rather for all to transform their hearts and lives (2 Peter 3:9, NCV). This profound truth raises important questions: Will our old nature never resurface? Can we instantly resist temptation?
Growing into Our New Identity
To better understand our new birth in Christ, let’s consider the analogy of a newborn baby. Can this tiny human walk, feed themselves, sing, read, or speak? Not yet, but with time, they will develop these skills. Similarly, our spiritual growth takes time.
A Parent’s Unwavering Pride
Imagine a parent in the delivery room, gazing lovingly at their newborn. Are they ashamed that their baby can’t spell, walk, or give a speech? Of course not! They’re proud, knowing that growth will come with time. God, too, looks at us with unwavering pride, understanding that our spiritual development unfolds gradually.
Resting in God’s Patience
As we navigate our journey, it’s crucial to remember that God is not disappointed in our imperfections. He knows that growth will come with time, and He’s proud of the progress we make. Let’s rest in His patience, embracing the transformation that occurs as we walk with Him.
