Finding Solace in the Sacred Summit
In a world where exhaustion and burdens weigh us down, Jesus extends a gentle invitation: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened” (Matthew 11:28). It’s an offer we’d do well to accept, yet often we hesitate. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, ignoring the whispered promptings of our hearts.
The Call to Leave It All Behind
I’m guilty of it too. Sometimes I choose to push through the fatigue, ignoring the still, small voice that urges me to seek refuge in Him. Other times, I’m simply too afraid to let go of my carefully crafted plans and schedules. But when I do muster the courage to step away from the noise, I’m met with a profound sense of peace.
The Narrow Trail Up the Mountain
As I walk the winding path up the mountain with Jesus, the din of the marketplace fades into the distance. The perspective from the summit is breathtaking – a bird’s-eye view of the world that reminds me of His sovereignty. He gently reminds me that I’ll never face a challenge that He hasn’t already overcome. The victory is mine for the taking, if only I’ll seize it.
A Place of Permanence in a World of Transition
The sacred summit is a place of permanence, a refuge from the turmoil that surrounds us. It’s where we find solace in the midst of chaos, where we’re reminded that our delight is just one decision away. As we stand at the summit, we’re met with the gentle whispers of our Savior, urging us to come closer, to rest in His presence, and to bask in the warmth of His love.
