The Limitations of Human Strength
When we’re faced with life’s monumental challenges, it’s essential to recognize our limitations. As 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us, “My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, My power is made perfect in you.” There are certain battles only God can fight, and it’s crucial to acknowledge our weaknesses.
The False Sense of Self-Sufficiency
Some of us believe we can conquer the world on our own terms. We’re self-made, driven, and convinced that our power and determination are enough to overcome any obstacle. But when we’re confronted with our own mortality or the weight of our guilt, our strength falters. We realize that our best efforts are insufficient to save ourselves, let alone the world.
The Mountain of Messiah
There’s one mountain we weren’t designed to climb: Mount Messiah. It’s a peak that requires divine intervention, and no amount of human effort can reach its summit. Similarly, Mount Self-Sufficient is an insurmountable peak, for we’re not capable of sustaining ourselves, let alone the world.
Entrusting Our Lives to Jesus Christ
So, what’s the solution? We must entrust our lives to our Savior, Jesus Christ. He’s the only one who can empower us to overcome our weaknesses and limitations. When we recognize our frailty and surrender to His strength, we’ll discover that His power is made perfect in our weakness.
Embracing Humility and Faith
Let’s abandon our attempts to save the world and instead focus on helping others. Let’s acknowledge our limitations and entrust our lives to Jesus Christ, the ultimate Savior. By doing so, we’ll find freedom from the burden of self-sufficiency and experience the transformative power of faith.
