Embracing God’s Purposed Fruitfulness
Chosen for a Purpose
You are chosen by God to bear fruit that will last. In John 15:16, Jesus says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last.” This is a divine appointment, a sacred calling to reflect the nature of God’s Son within you.
The Fruit of the Spirit
As you abide in God, His Spirit works within you, cultivating love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are not qualities you must produce alone; Jesus, the seed of God, is planted within you, nurturing and pruning you to reach your full potential.
Resting in God’s Power
Don’t be discouraged by feelings of barrenness or ugliness. Jesus is the Fruit of the Spirit, and every good and perfect fruit is Him living His life in you. Receive this truth from 2 Peter 1:3-4: “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
Participating in the Divine Nature
You already possess everything needed to bear lasting fruit. In 2 Peter 1:5-7, God invites you to add to your faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. These spirit qualities are worked in you by the Spirit of Christ Jesus, with your obedience and active participation.
God’s Tender Care
God is tenderly attentive to your growth, providing the right amount of “sun and rain” for maximum fruitfulness. He fertilizes, tends the soil, and prunes you to bring forth the best. Be blessed in your unique identity, legitimacy, authority, anointing, and birthright in the Spirit of liberty, where there is full freedom and fruitfulness.
The Harvest of Jesus’ Nature
The fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth (Ephesians 5:9). This is the harvest of Jesus’ nature in you. Paul prayed for his friends in Philippians 1:11, that they would bear the fruit of their salvation. Receive this promise and hear Paul praying it for you.
Leading a Life Worthy of the Lord
In Colossians 1:10, Paul prays that you will lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Receive this promise in Psalm 92:12-15, where the righteous flourish like a palm tree, growing strong and fruitful in old age.
Be Blessed in the Lord
Be blessed in the Lord, in whom you flourish and bear fruit. May you rest in His nature and power, living a life that honors Him and brings forth lasting fruit.
