Cultivating a Deeper Faith
As we journey through life, it’s essential to continually nurture our relationship with God. The apostle Peter reminds us to “grow in grace” – not just in one area, but in all aspects of our walk with Him.
Faith: The Foundation of Grace
Growing in faith is the first step towards a deeper connection with God. As our faith increases in fullness, consistency, and simplicity, we’ll be able to grasp His promises with greater confidence. This, in turn, will enable us to respond to life’s challenges with humility, love, and wisdom.
A Heart That Loves
As we ask God to extend our love, it becomes more intense, practical, and influential in every thought, word, and deed. Our love for Him and others will grow, overflowing from a heart that’s surrendered to His will.
The Beauty of Humility
Humility is a vital aspect of our spiritual growth. As we seek lowly places and acknowledge our own smallness, God is magnified, and we’re drawn closer to Him. This downward growth in humility allows us to grow upward towards God, deepening our prayer life and intimacy with Jesus.
Intimacy with Jesus
The Holy Spirit desires to guide us into a deeper knowledge of our Lord and Savior. To know Jesus deeply is to experience eternal fulfillment, and those who don’t seek this knowledge have missed out on a profound blessing. As we grow in our understanding of Jesus, our love for Him will increase, and we’ll long for more of His presence in our lives.
A Thirst for More
Those who have tasted the love of Jesus will always crave more. While Christ satisfies our deepest longings, His presence also whets our appetite for a deeper connection with Him. Absence from Christ is a form of spiritual darkness, but His presence is heaven on earth. Let’s not settle for mere contentment; instead, let’s seek to know more of Jesus in His divine nature, human relationship, and finished work on the cross.
Growing in Grace
As we cultivate a deeper faith, our love for Jesus will increase, and we’ll appreciate His love for us even more. The best measure of growth in grace is seen in our daily lives, as His love transforms every aspect of our being. So, how do you plan to grow in grace?
