The Unseen Eyes of Jesus
A Glimpse into the Life of Nathanael
Nathanael’s skepticism was palpable when Philip told him about Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah. His response was laced with doubt: “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46). But little did Nathanael know, Jesus had already seen him – long before their encounter.
The Unexpected Revelation
When Nathanael finally met Jesus, he was met with a surprising statement: “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you” (John 1:48). This revelation shook Nathanael to his core. It was as if Jesus had peered into the depths of his soul, revealing a part of his life that no human could have known. In that moment, Nathanael realized that Jesus, the Son of God, truly knew him.
A Message of Hope
This encounter speaks volumes about Jesus’ omniscience. He saw Nathanael even before he began his ministry work. He saw the potential, the struggles, and the desires that lay hidden beneath the surface. And He sees us in the same way. Long before anyone else recognizes our capabilities, Jesus has been watching, guiding, and walking alongside us.
A Personal Encounter
Jesus sees you today, in the midst of your daily struggles and triumphs. He sees the pain, the fear, and the longing in your heart. He sees where you live, work, and love. And He desires to draw closer to you, to walk alongside you, and to guide you through life’s journey.
Reflection and Prayer
Take a moment to reflect on Jesus’ words: “I saw you…” Where did He see you? What did He see in you?
Pray with me: “Thank You, Jesus, for seeing me today. You see me, You know me, and You want to draw closer to me. I am right here, Lord. Thank You, Amen.”
