The Heart of Christmas: God’s Gift of Emmanuel
As we celebrate the festive season, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. It is a time to reflect on the greatest gift humanity has ever received – the gift of Emmanuel, God with us.
The Divine Invasion of History
In a remarkable act of humility, the Creator of the universe chose to enter His own creation, submitting Himself to the rules He had established. This is the essence of Christmas: God invading history, becoming one of us, and dwelling among us.
The Glorified Man in Heaven
Today, there is a real man, glorified and exalted, appearing in the presence of God on our behalf. This is the same Jesus who walked among us, bearing our human likeness and dimensions. Yet, He is more than just a man – He is the heir of all things, Lord of lords, head of the church, and the firstborn of the new creation.
The Way to God, the Life of the Believer
Jesus is the way to God, the life of the believer, the hope of Israel, and the high priest of every true worshiper. He holds the keys to death and hell, and stands as our advocate and surety, interceding on our behalf.
Salvation Through Faith in the Living Lord
Salvation is not just about accepting a finished work or making a decision for Christ. It comes through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, the whole, living, victorious Lord who fought our fight and won it, accepted our debt as His own, and paid it in full.
A Prayer to Know Jesus Personally
If you desire to know Jesus personally, here’s a suggested prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to You and ask You to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Bring peace to my world this Christmas. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.”
