The Safety of God’s Hands
As I carefully cleaned a collection of valuable antiques, recently damaged in a house fire, I was reminded of the fragility of life. Each piece required gentle attention to restore its original beauty. A delicate tea pot, a century-old pottery container from England, and its removable lid were among the treasures. As I cleaned the lid, I accidentally applied too much pressure, causing the small raised knob to break off. Despite my best intentions, I had failed to preserve this precious artifact.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson. Even with the best of intentions, we can still fall short. Our lives, like those antiques, are fragile and precious. But who can we trust to protect and care for us? Many have placed their lives in the hands of others, only to be disappointed and left broken.
The Unfailing God
God, however, is different. He is the only one who never fails, never makes mistakes, and remains faithful. It is God alone who calls us to place our lives fully in His hand. His hand, which formed the heavens, touched and cured the sick, opened the eyes of the blind, and fed the hungry, is the only one that can keep us safe.
A Personal Relationship with God
If you don’t know Jesus in a personal way, you can begin a relationship with Him today. It starts with a simple prayer, acknowledging His identity and surrendering control of your life to Him. This prayer can be as simple as:
“Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.”
The Assurance of God’s Protection
As Jesus said, “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:29, NKJV). In God’s hand, we are kept, cared for, and protected. He alone can say, “No one can pluck you out of my hand.”
