The Unwavering Love of God
God’s love for His children is a profound and unparalleled force. Throughout Scripture, gentle reminders of this love are woven together like the intricate threads of a newborn’s quilt. This love is reminiscent of a mother’s – deep, unwavering, and bold.
A Mother’s Comfort
In Isaiah 66:13, God assures us, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” This promise is reinforced in Isaiah 49:15-16, where He declares, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” The apostle Paul echoes this sentiment in 1 Thessalonians 2:7, saying, “But we were very gentle with you, like a mother caring for her little children.”
A Love That Never Forgets
God’s love is not fleeting or conditional. It is a love that never forgets, never falters. As a mother’s love is deeply ingrained in her very being, so too is God’s love for His children. He has engraved us on the palms of His hands, a permanent reminder of His devotion.
Honoring the Love
As we celebrate the special people in our lives, let us not forget to honor the One who loves us most. Let us be surprised by the blessings that come from embracing God’s unwavering love. May we be comforted by His promises and inspired to live a life that reflects His bold, unrelenting love.
