In a pivotal moment, I dedicated my life to unwaveringly serving the Lord, becoming a passionate advocate for the Great Commission. Over three decades have passed, yet my devotion remains unshaken. Though fatigue may occasionally beset me, my resolve remains steadfast. One fateful day, while en route to a staff conference, a debilitating bout of vertigo left me reeling. As the world spun around me, I felt far from the bold warrior I aspired to be. Yet, being a champion for Christ isn’t about fleeting emotions. It’s about surrendering to His will, no matter the circumstances.
To be a true disciple means embracing Jesus with every fiber of our being, in both triumph and tribulation. Even in the darkest moments, we can choose to follow His guidance, just as the Psalmist did, finding solace “beside the still waters.” A life of radical obedience involves multiplying our gifts, rather than hoarding them. It means being willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of the gospel, even when faced with misunderstanding, persecution, or indifference.
Being a radical for Christ demands walking by faith, obeying His call, and continually confessing our shortcomings. It requires embracing the Holy Spirit’s direction, even when His plans diverge from our own. By submitting to His will, we can become instruments of transformation, bringing hope to a world in need.
May our hearts cry out to the Father, “I have followed You wholeheartedly.” May every reader of these words echo this prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide their lives. Are you prepared to surrender to His direction? Offer this simple yet powerful prayer, and by faith, invite God to fill you with His Spirit:
Dear Heavenly Father, I confess my need for You. I acknowledge that I have strayed from Your path, trying to direct my own life. Thank You for forgiving my sins through Christ’s sacrifice. I invite Christ to reclaim His rightful place in my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, as You have promised, and direct my life according to Your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus, thanking You for Your guidance and empowerment. Amen.
