Unveiling God’s Radical Love: A Journey to Intimacy and Freedom

Embracing the Radical Love of God

A Life of Intimacy and Freedom

The resurrection life we’ve received from God is not about living in fear or timidity. It’s about embracing a childlike wonder, eagerly asking, “What’s next, Papa?” (Romans 8:15, The Message).

Unmasking Our Perception of God

I recall a memorable experience in the early 1990s. A group of teachers gathered in a dimly lit room, surrounded by magazines, glue, scissors, and blank paper. Their task was to create a collage representing their view of God’s character. The outcome was astonishing. Instead of serene landscapes or gentle imagery, the posters were filled with vivid scenes of destruction, chaos, and suffering. These individuals had yet to discover the tender mercy of our God (Luke 1:78) or the kindnesses of the Lord (Psalm 63:7).

Rediscovering the Heart of God

In his book, Abba’s Child, Brennan Manning reminds us that as Christians, we have the same relationship with God as Jesus did. We’re invited to share an intimate and liberating bond with our Creator. Imagine the impact we could have on the world if we reflected God’s radical and tender love.

Cultivating Intimacy with Our Papa

As I reflect on my own journey, I’m reminded that the all-wise, all-knowing God is also my loving “Papa,” longing for me to develop a deeper relationship with Him. My heart’s cry is, “Help me, God, to express my love for you and increasingly feel your love for me.” Will you join me in this pursuit of intimacy?
